Body first. Then the mind can rest.

Release the stress your body has been holding.

A simple method built on movement that calms your nervous system and releases the tension your body has stored. No pressure to perform, and nothing forced.

What this is

Stress gets stuck in the body, not just the mind.

Stress triggers your fight-or-flight response, the body's ancient alarm system. It is meant to be brief: you sense danger, you act, and then you settle again. When the stress doesn't let up, the alarm stays on. Your shoulders tighten, your breathing becomes shallow and your thoughts go round in circles. Talking about it often isn't enough to switch the alarm off.

Neurosomatic Stress Release works through movement: simple, precise exercises that let your body release what it has been holding, so your mind can finally rest.

What brings people to us

  • Chronic tension and restlessness
  • Burnout and exhaustion
  • Anxiety that talking alone didn't ease
  • A body that no longer feels like home
  • Teams where stress spreads from person to person

The path

Three steps towards calm

01

Ground

Feel the ground beneath your feet again. Rooting and centring send your nervous system a clear signal that the danger has passed, so fight-or-flight can switch off.

02

Release

Release physical and mental blockages through precise movement, freeing the energy that was locked away in protection.

03

Flow

When the body opens up, mood lifts and creativity returns, and you are better prepared for the next wave of stress.

Where it comes from

Rooted in the art of living long and well.

Neurosomatic Stress Release grew out of Joyful Mindful Movement, itself rooted in the healing arts of Yan Shou Gong and the Shaolin tradition. Yan Shou Gong means "the art of cultivating a long life": not just living longer, but growing older with style, still able to do the things you love.

With input from psychiatry, psychology and body-oriented therapy, the method became even more effective. It was then field-tested for six years before becoming what it is today.

Why organisations choose us

Stress rarely stays with one person.

Stress, anxiety and low mood spread: they touch colleagues, family and the quality of the work. Preventing burnout is quieter, and cheaper, than replacing people once they have worn out.

We are happy to come to you. Instructors currently teach in the Netherlands, the USA, Canada, France and Belgium.
